The artist. We're all born creative and many of us have a secret dream of casting off the shackles of conventional moneymaking in favor of letting our inner artist shine. Don't ignore the sculptor musician or painter inside you — life is far more fun when you let that artist play.

Feature wall. Most of the previous solutions are optimal in bathrooms lacking in wall space. If you do have a free surface you could easily incorporate your towel racks as part of a feature wall. Here a wood-paneled alcove features five towel bars that the bather can easily reach from the tub.

Shower doors. Keep your towel mount integral to the shower enclosure itself. If you're lucky all the heat and steam against the glass may warm your towel in the process. Here a pivoting door swings on a hinge so the bather can access a towel without having to leave the steamy environs and without dripping any water outside the shower room. Naturally this type of hinged door works best when you have room to spare since its radius projects into the stall.

Connect with the outdoors. While this might not be feasible in all climates connecting a room with the outdoors is a great way to make the space feel larger and admit more natural light. If your bedroom is on the ground floor (or is on the second story and has an adjacent terrace) adding a set of French doors can instantly increase visual space.

Glass screen. A glass screen or panel extends about 60 percent of the way across the side of the tub and is fixed to the wall with brackets or hinges. It can be stationary or have a door that swings out from the tub. A glass screen is a great option in small bathrooms because it takes up less space physically and visually since less glass and hardware are needed. A glass panel with a door that swings out because it fit the room's contemporary feel and makes the tile in the shower a focal point. The swinging door allows better access to the water controls.

Are you at a loss for what type of night stand to purchase? First consider how much space you have. If you have a small bedroom think about ways that your night stands can serve another function. A table for a nearby armchair or a small chest of drawers for clothes storage are two convenient options. Allow room for table lamps or install wall mounted sconces to read by. I am a firm believer in the power of drawers - they make your life easier less cluttered and more functional. At the very least try to find a table with a shelf to stash your magazines and books.

The fashionista. You may not be able to justify a wardrobe full of Chanel and Louis Vuitton but if deep down that's what you'd really love to have start by channeling more Chanel in your life one room at a time.

Orange above. If you prefer to wake up with a happy jolt try a bold orange-gold color on the ceiling. An orange ceiling will intensify the blue of the skies outside as blue and orange are complementary colors. With such a strong color on the ceiling I'd go with light and warm neutrals for the walls and trim.

Take your bathroom to a whole new level with a low glass panel that contains the water. Tiled floors and walls and a secure glass installation make it completely waterproof and surprisingly sturdy.
